Long-Lasting Chew Time

Keeps dogs busy longer than soft treats that disappear too fast.

Rawhide-Free Option

A cleaner choice for owners who prefer to avoid rawhide chews.

Helps Support Oral Hygiene

Regular chewing can help with plaque and tartar buildup over time.

Responsible Feeding and Safety Tips

Choose a Chew That Fits

Make sure the chew is appropriate for your dog’s size and chewing style. A well-sized chew gives them something comfortable to hold and work on without trying to swallow it whole.

Keep Chewing Within Sight

Stay nearby while your dog enjoys their yak chew, particularly if they’re an eager or powerful chewer. Check the chew between sessions and take it away if it becomes small enough to swallow.

Let First-Timers Ease In

New to Himalayan yak chews? Start with shorter chewing sessions and give your dog time to get used to the firm texture, especially if they have a sensitive stomach.

Consider Their Teeth and Chewing Style

Yak cheese chews are naturally hard and gradually soften with chewing. Take extra care with puppies, senior dogs, or dogs with sensitive teeth or existing dental concerns.

Keep Fresh Water Close

Chewing can leave your dog ready for a drink, so make sure fresh, clean water is always easy to reach.

Shipping

Enjoy free shipping on purchases over $45 after applicable promotions. For instance, if you're using a 10% discount code, the initial total must be at least $50.56 before the discount is applied.

Simple 2-ingredient recipe

No mystery ingredients and no bleaching agents. You know exactly what you're feeding your dog with this 2-ingredient recipe. Will definitely reorder when this bulk stash runs low!

Solid chew time, keeps them busy

Having a steady stash in the pantry is so convenient. They don't smell weird and they last days. Essential purchase if you work from home and need some quiet time.

Golden Retriever approved

Takes our 70lb power chewer about two full days of on-and-off chewing to finish one large bar. Best quiet-time investment for when I have back-to-back work calls!

Puff the ends!

Great chews and zero waste. We soak the leftover small stubs in warm water and pop them in the microwave for 45 seconds to make crunchy cheese puffs. 10/10!

Clean indoor chew

Doesn't leave any greasy film, gross odor, or carpet stains like marrow bones. Drops a couple of dry crumbs toward the end, but they vacuum up in two seconds. High quality.

Consistent quality across the bag

Got the small size bulk pack for my two Boston Terriers. Sizing was surprisingly uniform throughout the bag. Only knocking off a star because they make a loud thud when dropped on hardwood floors, but my dogs love them and the simple 2-ingredient recipe gives me a total peace of mind.

Consistent density throughout the batch

Ordered the small size bulk bag for our Frenchies. Sizing is quite consistent across the entire bag. Only knocking off a star because they make a loud clacking sound when dropped on our hardwood floors, but chew-wise, they are top quality and don't splinter.

Best bulk value for high-drive chewers

Ordered the large bulk bag for our German Shepherd. Individual pet store chews were costing us a fortune every week, so buying bulk is a massive money saver. These are rock hard, clean, and keep him occupied for hours without leaving any greasy residue on the carpet. Highly recommended!

Huge lifesaver for multiple heavy chewers!

With two large Lab mixes, buying individual yak bars at pet specialty stores was draining my wallet every single week. Getting the bulk bag cut our chew expenses practically in half. The chews are just as thick, dense, and long-lasting as the individual singles. Kept them happily busy on their mats all evening. 10/10!

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Himalayan Yak Chews?

Himalayan Yak Chews are 100% natural, long-lasting dog chews made from yak/cow milk and lime juice, free from artificial additives, preservatives, or chemicals. Available in traditional and naturally flavored varieties (like banana, blueberry, coconut, pumpkin, mint, strawberry, turmeric), they provide a delicious, highly digestible chew that helps clean teeth and reduce plaque. As your dog chews, it also naturally helps clean teeth and reduce plaque. Once it wears down to a small size, simply microwave it into a crunchy yak puff treat — zero waste, maximum value.

What is the story or origin behind this chew?

Kathmandus Natural Dog Chew is produced using an ancient recipe of the people living in the high altitude of Nepal (Himalayas). The smaller variant of this hard cheese, locally known as Churpi, is still used as a protein-supplemental human chew in the Himalayas and is free of chemical preservatives and foreign additives. Our dog chew is a larger variant of Churpi that keeps your dog happy and busy for hours.

How long does our yak chews last?

Most dogs need several chewing sessions to finish a single yak chew, even if they're aggressive chewers. Unlike many other chews, ours never lose their flavor, so your dog stays engaged for longer-lasting enjoyment.

Are yak chews safe and easy to digest?

Yes! 100% natural, with no artificial colors, flavors, chemicals, or preservatives, our chews are highly digestible. They're designed to soften and break down gradually as your dog chews — rather than splintering like many rawhide or bone-based alternatives.

Do yak chews leave stains or color behind?

No! Since our chews contain no artificial dyes, they won't leave any color or stains behind. They're completely mess-free and safe around your pet's fur, carpet, bedding, and furniture.

Are they suitable for puppies or large dogs?

Yes! We offer multiple sizes so you can choose the right fit for your dog's breed and chewing strength. As with any chew, select an appropriate size and supervise your dog while chewing — especially puppies and powerful chewers.

What safety precautions should I keep in mind while my dog is chewing?

Our Chew provides a hygienic and safe option compared to bones and other chewing treats for dogs. Like similar products, including chews, rawhide, or bones, there is a risk of choking if swallowed and a possibility of breaking or chipping a tooth. It is essential to always supervise your dog during chewing activities and ensure they have access to plenty of water. If you observe any potential risks, stop using the product immediately.

What is the proper storage condition for the chew?

Store in a cool dry place. Do not refrigerate.

I'm not sure what size chew is right for my dog. Can you help?

We offer 7 sizes to match your dog's weight, so every pup gets an appropriately-sized chew:

Small(1-1.5oz) - Under 15lbs

Medium(2.5-3oz) - Under 30lbs

Large(3-4oz) - Under 55lbs

X-Large(5-6oz) - Under 80lbs

Jumbo(6-7oz) - Under 90lbs

Mega(7-8oz) - Under 100lbs

XXL(8-10oz) - Over 100lbs

If your dog is between sizes or a particularly aggressive chewer, we recommend sizing up for a longer-lasting chew. As always, supervise chewing sessions regardless of size.
